Embarking on a voyage of self-belief and its transformative influence on one's journey through life has been a defining narrative for me. As a reserved and introverted individual since my college days, I maintained a close-knit circle of friends while always being ready to assist others. The turning point occurred during my third year of BCom in 2015, when an unexpected event unfolded, reshaping my entire perspective.
This pivotal moment took place during a college event, where two friends and I participated in a two-stage competition—Treasure Hunt and Public Speaking. While securing the 2nd position in the Treasure Hunt, the Public Speaking segment took us by surprise. When it commenced, only one person in our group could address a specific topic. As a BCom student with little experience speaking in front of an audience, fear gripped me. Despite the anxiety, I summoned my courage and spoke, grappling with the fear while maintaining eye contact.
This experience ignited a determination to confront and conquer this fear, leading me to ponder on the question: how? Subsequently, as I pursued my MBA in HR from 2016 to 2018, opportunities arose for stage presentations and solo singing, experiences I embraced with newfound confidence.
My journey continued in 2020 when I quit my job as an HR Recruiter to prepare for the LLB entrance. However, unforeseen circumstances unfolded as the lockdown hit in March 2020, postponing the entrance exam. Facing job rejections, I confronted a critical decision that would shape my path:
Settle for a job and embrace the status quo.
Elevate my skills and venture into the unknown.
Opting for personal growth and exploration appealed to me. Subsequently, I delved into web development, launching my first website in the yoga niche. In just three months, the site garnered an average of 3000 monthly impressions. A pivotal moment occurred in March 2021 when I discovered "Freelance" on YouTube, leading to my first international client within 15 days.
Transitioning into freelancing, I initially started as a General Content Writer, exploring niches such as SaaS, Technology, and Web3. Leveraging my writing skills on LinkedIn, I ventured into providing LinkedIn Personal Branding services, marking the beginning of my journey as a LinkedIn Personal Brand Strategist.
This transformative decision not only shifted my career from HR to Personal Branding but also led to the establishment of my agency, Growfluence, on November 16, 2023. Despite the challenges posed by Covid-19, I viewed it as an opportunity to explore the uncharted and place my bets on personal growth.
For the youth, I offer two pieces of advice:
Believe in Yourself: Cultivate a positive mindset, constructive habits, and an empowering perception. The amalgamation of these aspects brings about profound internal changes, eventually reflecting in external transformations.
Bet on Yourself: Approach your aspirations with dedication and seriousness. Allocate at least five years to prove your worth to yourself. Embrace the challenge daily, making the most of every moment, 24/7.
Always remember, you are the CEO of your life—take charge and lead it with purpose.
