"Success doesn’t come to you. You go to it." – Marva Collins
Success, much like hunting, requires patience, precision, and relentless determination. As I
reflect on my own journey, this quote resonates deeply with me.
From foraging in the wilderness to navigating the complexities of leadership, my life has been
a pursuit of goals driven not by obligation, but by a fierce internal desire. Every step, every
decision, is calculated — crafted with intent.
I’m Benedetto Biondi, and just as I carefully pick mushrooms from the forest floor, I’ve
strategically picked my path in life.
Born and raised in Italy, my roots have always been wild, connected to nature in ways that
reflect the person I’ve become today. I adapt quickly, whether it’s diving into the unknown or
leading a company.
My background in mechanical engineering taught me structure, while my master’s in
management and innovation from Cardiff University shaped my ability to think strategically.
These experiences have moulded me into a leader who doesn’t just follow a blueprint, but
who carves one out based on passion, instinct, and the will to hunt for what matters most.
Today, as the CEO of Folks Finance, I lead with the mindset of a hunter — a protector and
provider. To me, running a company is like raising a child. It’s more than a responsibility; it’s
a deep, personal commitment to growth, nurturing, and guiding the team through obstacles.
At Folks Finance, I manage with a focus on empowering our community through a
decentralized, permissionless system that delivers innovative DeFi tools across multiple
networks.
My role is to ensure that every decision we make keeps the community at the core, driving
value and fostering trust. We operate in a space where adaptability and security are
paramount, and I guide our team with strategic foresight, ensuring that our platform
continues to provide seamless, cutting-edge financial solutions without barriers, allowing
users to access and manage their assets with complete autonomy.
Every decision I make is deliberate, grounded in the idea that, much like parenting, leadership
demands sacrifice, patience, and foresight. Watching my company grow is a thrill, just as
rewarding as the quiet satisfaction of a successful hunt.
But life hasn't always been a clear path. Trust, I’ve learned, is earned, not given freely. My
journey taught me to seek feedback, to ask questions, and to approach challenges with a
critical mind.
It’s a lesson that came with its share of scars, but one that shaped me into a more mindful
leader—one who values insight and growth over blind trust.
To the younger generation, my message is simple: step into the unknown. Comfort zones are
the enemies of success. I often look back and wish I had been more daring in my youth —
taken that summer camp, learned English earlier, pushed my own boundaries instead of
staying stubborn.
Growth happens when we move beyond what feels comfortable and familiar. It’s about
embracing challenges and stepping into situations that push us to our limits. Staying in one
place may seem secure, but it prevents us from realizing our full potential.
I think taking on new experiences, even when we’re unsure of the outcome, we open
ourselves up to learning, improvement, and discovering strengths we didn’t know we had.
Each challenge offers valuable lessons, and through these experiences, we build resilience
and confidence. True progress happens when we allow ourselves to face uncertainty and push
forward despite the unknown.
In both life and business, I see the role of a hunter as essential—someone who approaches
every pursuit with a clear goal in mind and a calculated strategy to achieve it. Being a hunter
means knowing when to move forward and when to wait, understanding that success often
requires patience as much as it does action.
In business, this translates to making thoughtful decisions, recognizing opportunities, and
carefully navigating challenges. It’s not just about chasing everything that crosses your path,
but about being selective, focusing on what truly matters, and staying relentless in your
pursuit.
A hunter doesn't act impulsively; instead, every move is intentional, driven by a deep passion
for the goal and an unwavering commitment to achieving it. Whether it’s leading a company
or navigating personal challenges, you have to know what you want and be prepared to go
after it with persistence and determination.
You may face setbacks, but a hunter understands that the journey is just as important as the
destination, and the willingness to adapt is key to reaching your objectives. Ultimately, it’s
about maintaining focus, staying resilient, and having the courage to keep pushing forward,
no matter how long the path may seem.
Not everything can be caught, but the chase itself is what shapes us. So, go after your dreams,
not for the sake of it, but because deep down, you know it’s what you’re meant to do.
