
Abu Hubaida, hails from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is an Indian professional Para-Badminton player who made his International debut in 2016.
At the age of just two, the polio has resulted in a broken leg and this disease had made Abu poor. The financial condition of the house was not good at that time, his father was definitely a soldier in PAC, but the salary was very less and due to the large family, the expenses could not be met. His father's salary was not enough that he could train for badminton in a good place. It's about the year 2016.
He had to go to China to participate in a championship. But, he did not have enough money to participate in this championship. However, his coach Gaurav Khanna was of great help. He can never forget that time. Abu has struggled a lot since the beginning. Despite such an adverse situation, his mother not only handled it, but also gave inspiration to move forward. Abu too faced the situation boldly.
But, he is very happy that due to hard work and determination, he got his destination. The Yogi government honoured Abu Hubaida with the state's highest sports honour Lakshman Award. Para players were included in the list of general players for the first time.
Abu plays in the Wheelchair-II category and has been included in the list of top-20 players in the world. The childhood of this veteran para player was spent in PAC metropolis. He played the first national tournament in the year 2011. Whereas in the year 2016, Abu was selected for the Asian Para Badminton Championship. This was a turning point in his career. Since then there has been no looking back for Abu.
He won his 1st International Medal for his country when he won a gold & a bronze medal in Uganda Para-Badminton International 2017. He became National Champion of Men's Singles in 2018 by Beating previous many times National champion.
He is current National Champion in Men's Doubles along with his Doubles Partner Mr. Premkumar Ale. As of Tuesday, February 25, 2022, he is ranked 18th on the Badminton World Federation Para-Badminton list.
Silver in Mixed Doubles of Peru Championships, Silver in Mixed Doubles of Thailand Badminton in the year 2019, Traveling to the Quarter Finals in Thailand Championships in 2018. Abu won bronze in Singles and Doubles of Dubai Para Badminton in the year 2018 and Silver in Mixed And by capturing the bronze in the singles of Uganda Badminton, India shone all over the world.
"My dream is to win a medal for India at the Olympics," he said.
For this he is working hard under the guidance of his coach and his idol Gaurav Khanna.
