Resilience The Spirit of Triumph | Khushboo Jaiswal

Writer: Bespoke DiariesBespoke Diaries

During an interview, I once heard a gentleman say, “ If you have 1.5 lakh rupees in your account, better to travel and learn than buy an I-Phone and be glued to it for hours. His words deeply resonated with me because I find traveling to be soul-enriching. Since my college days, I've always saved money to explore new places. It's like the rejuvenation of soil after rain; just as the soil carries a fragrance, my soul feels rejuvenated after every trip.

This time after considering many options, I chose for Vietnam as it was a tick mark on all of my activities: Beaches, national heritage, culture, good food and natural beauty. On the second day in the city, I was awestruck when I visited the Cu Chi tunnels and learned about their history. The Vietnam War, a 21-year conflict fueled by the Vietnamese desire to unify their country under a single communist regime, saw deep involvement from the United States.

However, what stood out was the indomitable fighting spirit of the Vietnamese people. Despite limited resources, they made the most of what they had, crafting slippers from military aircraft tires to constructing the extensive Cu Chi tunnels. Their resourcefulness and determination were awe-inspiring. They always believed they would prevail, sensing that the Americans lacked the will for a prolonged conflict. They showed resilience at such levels that even the scarfs used during wars were multipurpose and they had well-crafted strategies to win the war.

Defeating a country like US is no easy task. Their war museum showed the sacrifices they made for years and the scars they carried for so long. It was disturbing, yet deeply moving, to see the tangible remnants of their struggle and the immense pride they felt in their hard-won victory.

Throughout my journey, I was particularly touched by the pride of our tour guide, whose lineage had fought in the war. He spoke with such pride about their sacrifices. Savouring the joy of success right!

In our lives also, we can learn from Vietnam. Self-faith and resilient mindset always fosters innovation and creativity, encouraging experimentation, risk-taking, and the exploration of new ideas—lessons well demonstrated by the people of Vietnam. The Vietnamese people's story is not just a historical account but a powerful reminder of the human spirit's capacity to overcome adversity.

Guess it’s right when we say - "It's not about winning every battle but about staying in the game long enough to find a way to win."The quote“ Success often comes through perseverance, adaptation and belief in one’s abilities” rings true.
