Hello, I am Kanchan Yogesh Chaudhari from Jalgaon Maharashtra. I have participated in 2 International swimming competitions, 9 Para National swimming competitions, 15 times sea swimming competitions.
I have been awarded Maharashtra States’ highest sports award "The Eklavya State Award" for the year 2010-2011. I have completed my M. Sc Microbiology and now am working in a Food Company as a senior officer in the QA lab.
My parents started my swimming learning at the age of 7 yrs, before starting swimming I drowned in 8 feet pool and this fear made me a fast learner. My first swimming competition was at the district level and I came finished 2 in 50 m backstrokes, and this gave me a different level of confidence and my practice continued. I participated in school games, Aquathlon, and triathlon competitions. Till now I have participated 15 times in sea swimming events of different locations - Sunrock to gate of India Mumbai, navy sea swimming, Ratnagiri, and Malvan.
My first Para Swimming national championship was held in Karnal Haryana in 2008 and I secured 4 gold medals in the 100-meter event. Immediately in January 2009 after this national, I was called for a National camp held in Bangalore.
As the first child from the whole family who was in sports that to swimming, my parents were happy as well as nervous, and after a long thinking process they made the decision to attain the camp. In November 2009 I participated in my first International swimming competition "IWAS world games", Bangalore and I secured 3 gold medals in 100 m freestyle, 100 m back backstrokes, and 50 m backstrokes, and one bronze medal. In 2010 I represented India in the Para Asian games Guangzhou China and finished in the fifth position. Representing India was such a great experience.
Again in 2014, I was selected to represent India in the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow, National camp started, but unfortunately team could not represent India due to some technical issues. It was very painful as an athlete who is practicing heavily, bearing all pain, hoping for the best, and not participating. And directly indirectly it affected my practice, and I discontinued practicing. Some or the other time we fail to control every situation and get nervous but believe me that is the time which we have to pass, and once that time is passed we become a better version of ourselves.
After many months when i entered the swimming pool, I felt like this was what I always wanted, and this is what I can do better rather than anything else, and i started practicing again, this time I was not starting from new, I had my past experience. I challenged myself to perform better, I challenged myself to prove myself again.

When everything started after COVID 19 pandemic I played my XX National Para Swimming Championship 2021 held in Bangalore and I secured 3 gold medals in 100 m distance. In 2022 I participated in XXI National Para Swimming Championship held in Udaipur and secured 3 gold medals in 100 m distance. I look forward to representing India and winning a medal in the upcoming international Championships.
Great.. inspirational🔥🔥!
