The Eye Of The Storm | Dr. Madelaine Gomes

HOW DO WE GIVE MEANING TO OUR STORMS IN LIFE AND NOT BECOME PERMANENTLY ENSLAVED BY VICTIMHOOD?

The storms of life are an experience that we will not forgo in life because they are completely unaffected by wealth, rank, or religion. No matter how big or tiny, they are intended to jolt us out of our complacency and reroute us into a fresh cycle. If only I had known this earlier in life, I wouldn't be so determined to control what isn't working and so determined to continue down a route that is obviously not leading anywhere.

Our storms are the trauma and abrupt shifts intended to mark the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. But, it is in our human nature to try to cling to what we already know rather than have faith and travel a route that would lead to healing, transformation, and the gathering of our past experience's wisdom.

Depending on our internal constitution and what we experience, trauma can shatter us into bits and leave us feeling shattered, uncovered, and unrooted. We may also focus excessively on the trauma, which can trap us in a cycle of ongoing suffering and feeling like a damaged person.

I have learned through walking the path, when we finally get over the pain, right in the eye of the storm is our purpose and potential waiting to be harvested! But, how do we identify the eye of the storm, stay grounded and survive through healing and self-transformation? Sometimes my life feels so stormy and I wonder if it is because many times I saw the sign of redirection but then fear of the unknown set in and I stayed on the current path, and other times I had no choice, it is what it is.

I don’t like to feel vulnerable nor do I like to share my pain publicly, but I am pushed by people I have helped and dear friends to tell my story and spread the message of hope to the ones who are experiencing trauma and feeling down and out at this time. The question begs…who would I have become if it wasn't for my storms? Each one taught me valuable wisdom and gave me inner strength, bringing me closer to being skilled for the purpose I am born to BE.

MY CHILDHOOD STORM

I did not grow up privileged but rather very challenging and by birth became a witness and product of domestic violence and alcoholism at its best. At the age of seven, I started to cook, clean, and look after my siblings and knew that I will never repeat what I see and experienced when I am big.

I became the peacemaker between my mother and father, stepping in and breaking up fights in the middle of the night! What was the Eye of the Storm teaching me? I have gained Wisdom, Maturity, Independence, and a deep understanding of human behavior, addiction, and mental unwellness. I can cook up a storm and love homemaking. Today I have helped addicts find and identify the pain that they want to numb and taught them how to see the blessing in the eye of their storm and use that for good instead of taking a route of self-destruction.

MY ADULT STORM

At the age of 34, I began my own entrepreneurial path after achieving great success in corporate business. With this journey, I transformed a Top 10 Entrepreneurial start-up into a Corporate structure and helped unemployed truck drivers realize their own potential. Long-term partnerships and employee takeovers at big businesses resulted from this.

As the only woman in sight interacting with high-profile clients and truck drivers, my voyage was fraught with storms. Nevertheless, the most difficult swells were emotional since I lost my brother and then my spouse, which tore the ground out from under me and left me exhausted and ill.

What was the eye of my childhood and business Storm telling me? Because of my childhood, I understood how easy it is to fall prey to your circumstances instead of rising above them. When I met the drivers I knew I had to help them as they fell prey to conditional mindset programming believing they are not good enough. They had the skills and I had the business knowledge, but they did not realize their worth.

This led to the transformation of thousands of people over years and a better life for them and their families. What was the eye of the grief storm telling me? I lost my identity in my title and business success and was left with the question “Who Am I”...

Leading to me emerging as a Doctor in Metaphysical Science, Pranic Energy Healer, and Mindset Alchemist. I found myself in my true Essence as the Teacher and the Healer in Business. It is amazing how this correlates with the transformation of people that I was involved in and it never stopped.

HOW DO I GIVE MEANING TO MY STORM FROM THE PAST TODAY?

Retracing our steps shows that we are never too far from our purpose and that our life experiences have given us the knowledge we need to fulfill our purpose and our divine destiny.

When I realized this, my agony vanished and was replaced by joy in the realization that everything in life has a purpose, including the jobs we do, the people we meet, and the experiences we have.

Each of us has a “calling,” and I sincerely believe that our journeys are holy. Our programming, on the other hand, makes us think of our jobs as "callings" instead of the information and skills we are learning to help us reach our purpose. As soon as you stare into the storm's eye and discover your blessing, you will enter your mission and destiny, which transform into your job-your job of life. People and things are sometimes taken out of our lives to free us from obligations we don't need and help us reach our goals. Deaths happen, and they redirect our lives onto a new path. As with death, everything as we know it changes.

I've honed the excellent intuitive skill of being able to listen to people's stories and

figure out where their illness or happy path began. If it weren't for the course my life

has taken, I wouldn't have these gifts to offer to others. If you are currently going through or have recently gone through a storm and are feeling lonely, heartbroken, and overwhelmed with anxiety about the future, I want you to look at your entire journey up to this point and identify the patterns and storms, and find your potential and purpose right in each storm's eye, I would like to invite you to please connect with me for a conversation.

Namaste,

Dr. Madelaine Gomes MsC.D
