Turning Pain into Power: My Journey of Transformation | Reshma Ansari

I was born as a normal child. After a few months, I got a fever and my parents got to know from a doctor that I was diagnosed with polio in my Right side. In 4th Standard, my operation was done in both legs overall with 32 stitches but still, my condition was the same after operation no improvement.

Till my completion Graduation 2015 I was a simple and quite girl was no friends no talks with anyone. I Started walking 2 km after coming from college and some exercise at home but due to financial issues I can't able to join gym and also no guidance from parents even I don't have courage that time.

In 11th standard I met with an accident where I fell from stairs where my Jaw got broken and some teeth too due to that I can't able to have hard foods. Doctors done my operation and operation was successful. This was the FIRST battle of my life which I conquered with my will power.

In 2019 I lost my dad where I started suffering from depression, Kidney stone and back pain due to stone and depression, where I can't able to sit for 15 minutes, this I suffered for 1 years. One day I was lying and searched on google how to kill back pain and depression where I got some

Yoga stretching.

I started practicing some yoga poses where I getting started relief from pain and also! was staying happy. So I got so much addicted to Yoga because it helps me in removing me from my dad loss depression and feeling fit and healthy. I was practicing this daily for 4 to 5 hours and the result was I became flexible, now I can perform 60 to 70 Yoga poses. This was the SECOND battle of my life which I conquered.

In 2021 I started gaining interest in becoming more fit so I join the gym. Due to no job that time my gym owner never charged any gym fee from me till now and I am grateful for this. One day in October 2021 I went to Sheruclassic Bodybuilding event in Mumbai (Asia's biggest Sports Festival and bodybuilding) and met with so many Athletes, clicked Pictures. After coming from event I get motivated to became bodybuilder.

In India there is no Bodybuilding competition for Specially Abled Girl so I decided to became that First Specially Abled Female Bodybuilder of India and Journey was started. I got disappointed when I searched that no bodybuilding event organizing competition for specially abled girl but Didn't stop my practice with the thought that sure one day will come for me.

After a month Sheruclassic organized a competition in Delhi 2022 for Specially abled boys, without wasting a time I asked them that I Can also participate in Competition they Said YES, I got very happy and started preparation for it, I got only 1 month 10 days of time. That time I was Jobless I can't afford my diet food.

I have heard this "KOI BHI CHIZ SHIDDAT SE PANE KI KOSHISH KARO SARI KAINAT USSE MILANE MAI LAG JATI HAI" yes this true, one of my friend/mentor he supported me with the diet and everything and he continued to support me in every competition without expectation, and I am grateful it.

The day came on 17 Jun 2022 in Delhi I was posing for bodybuilding for 1ST time on Sheruclassic Stage with 32 Specially abled boys and I am the only one Specially abled Girl who was staring in Judges eyes and bodybuilding posing done fearlessly and confidently. This the day where I was so much happy that and also given name to my Instagram page (Warrior_Reshma)

This was the THIRD battle of my life which I conquered.

Also participated in 1ST Women's Wheelchair Cricket in Mumbai, despite of 9 to 5 job, then Gym (Its takes 45 minutes to reach the gym from my home and back again 45 minutes overall it takes my 4 hours including my workout) then Sunday practice of cricket, no sponsorship, if I am tired then also I have to prepared daily diet food and food for my mom as she is not keeping well.. this all thing is very challenging for me.

Most of the time I cried while going gym with pain and tiredness but when I think that why I started this battle and there are people who did not give up by seeing me. I am the only person in my family who earns and taking care of mom and fulfilling my dream. I continued participating in competition . I love my life that I inspiring many people even normal or specially abled people. Also preparing for my further competition.

My message to everyone:

Do "Har Maidaan Fateh" whatever the Situation is...

Be proud of getting battles and bad situation, these will make you 10 times stronger.

Many more battles are ahead...................
